The memoir ‘Beyond Courage’ has a beginning and an end date for my hero, my teacher, my inspiration, my son Andrew James Lancashire. He left this earthly planet eight years ago, today. At 22 years old, most young people would have their lives ahead of them filled with their dreams, careers and lives with endless possibilities. For Andrew, it was a life he did not choose. He was diagnosed with primary bone cancer, Chondroblastic Osteosarcoma. To follow Andrew’s journey, see, feel and touch the ‘heart of the spirit’, of being human, do watch this beautiful video. How He Chose To Live Will Inspire You.
Andrew’s legacy continues, to raise global awareness of AYA Cancers (Adolescent and Young Adult) and Childhood Cancers.
Proceeds from the book ‘Beyond Courage’ go towards cancer research into Sarcoma at The Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute, Melbourne, Australia.

I will be honored to read, “Beyond Courage”, the story of your precious son Chris, a hero, teacher and warrior through the journey with Osteosarcoma. These young people, just as my own son, are wise beyond their years and inspire us with their courage and insight only gained through enduring these devastating diseases. Diseases for which there is not nearly enough awareness, much less funding for research to treat such that take the lives of many young people. Lives that should have the chance to survive with better options for treatments, lives not being snuffed out because of “greed” of pharmaceutical companies that won’t step out beyond “making Hugh profits” on drugs they will produce. By sharing these young people’s stories, the awareness can bring about change and therefore help the many others that follow their paths. These cases grow more and more everyday and are becoming not so rare anymore. I have been asked many times to write a book about my son’s and our own journey through this devastating disease (Ewing’s Sarcoma). He also showed unwavering strength, courage and faith in God as well as his love for others. Thank you for writing and sharing your son Chris’ story to bring about awareness and to inspire us all. I look forward to reading! God Bless You!
